Nothing new here. Similar situation when the D800 and D4 were released. Sellers from Ebay marked up the prices way more than the retail price. If you need it now, have the cash and are willing to pay for it, then it's all good. They are not twisting anyone's arm to pay their price. Just like what the other member mentioned, it's all about supply and demand.

Guys, great news..The same place I bought my Sigma 50mm-150mm 2.8 os has this lens for $778...This place truly has the lowest prices..Goin to be saving for this lens now..Broke after my latest purchase..I know I got the 28mm 1.8g recently..But when ever I go FX,I will be keeping my D7100..So the fx glass will still be needed..Just thought I would share..

But this lens is a DX lens. If you are seriously considering going FX in the future, why not consider an FX wide angle lens?
