Always yearning for new equipment?

Yep. I know for a fact the errors and shortfalls are mine and I own up to them. That is not to say I don't want a 7100, but I'll wait till I feel I'm half as good as it is with this picture taking thing.

Then read this: No One is Making a Bad Camera, You're Just a Bad Photographer

He's very blunt and up-front, (ranting, according to the editor) but, there's more truth here than I want to admit most of the time.

What do you think?

I'm good with equipment. I just need an assistant to do the editing for me. :D

I've reached the point that I am no longer lusting for another camera or lens.

There is a possibility later on in life that I will have to give up this hobby but I hope that time will not come anytime soon.

Well, I'm still lusting for equipment. NAS sucks. But us men are such a brutal, self centered lot that needs to endow themselves in more then one way. All equipment is good? Damn, I knew I should have bought that,"I'm a superstar Barbi camera", on sale at Walmart. My life is over. The guys at work will sense my failure. The horror, the horror, the horror

Looking into technology recently.

1) He has a point: pictures are made by going out and getting to know the gear you are using, not by buying new material. There always have been great pictures, so you can do it with technology of any time.
2) On the other hand, technology evolution allows to do different things, to do photography in other circumstances. It is not needed, but it can be fun and time efficient.

One day I'm going to have to do a rant about why I hate people ranting.:indecisiveness:

This guy seems to think that people upgrade their gear because they think that what they have is bad.
I never thought my D3100 was a bad camera, it was just lacking in features that I wanted when I bought the D300.

Now I want to upgrade to a D7100 not because the D300 is a bad camera, it's because I want higher ISO capabilities, and double the resolution.

I know it's not going to make me a better photographer, nor do I care what this ranting lunatic thinks.
I wonder what camera and lens he's shooting with. I bet it ain't a D60.
