Went back over to Cypress this afternoon to see if the wood ducks would gather late in the afternoon as promised. New Flash: They didn't. I arrived early and made the rounds to see what things were like in the afternoon. As I was walking the trail, I ran across a group of dressed up folks on one of the bridges over the swamp. They have weddings and pre wedding photoshoots there all the time. I saw them looking at me and could swear a few were talking about me after I passed by. I noticed a young lady in one of the boats nearby. I was at the boat landing just before closing and that same young lady brought the boat in and said she had been shooting a wedding. Turns out she was a new amateur photographer and the group had stopped her and asked her to shoot the wedding after an issue with the photographer, or possibly their equipment. Had I come through a little earlier, I'm sure they would have asked me. I suspect they were talking about asking me anyway, thinking I was a professional, based on the looks of my gear. When folks see a long tele, they assume you're a professional. I get that all the time. Anyway, looks like I dodged a bullet. I would have had a hard time saying no with no photographer there capable of shooting the wedding.
