Hi,

So I'm after a battery for my Nikon D3200 and noticed Wasabi do a dual-battery with a car charger + normal charger for $40....

I haven't been able to find many reviews on them but my friend has bought them for GoPro and vouched for them.

Anyone used them?

Cheers

For $40 including the battery and chargers, I'd be leary myself.

It's been my experience with electronics that OEM batteries simply outperform 3rd party. Mabye Wasabi makes batteries for Nikon, I don't really know. I think $50 for a battery to power a piece of equipment that costs $1K and up seems very fair to me.

Some here have had success with Wasabi.

Good Luck :)

Horoscope Fish wrote many times that he and his girlfriend use Wasabi batteries. WHen I bought my Sony, I bought 2 Wasabi backups. It "seems" to me that although they last almost as long as the OEM, they still don't last as long shooting a battery hungry camera like my Sony. It's pretty close though and I don't have any actual counts. I might have to do one soon. For the money though, I'd still use a Wasabi to save the money. Thanks to HF and his GF.

Carguy - If only Nikon batteries where $50 - here in Canada a EN-EL15 at Bestbuy.CA is $99.00 (+ shipping and taxes). The Aftermarket Wasabi at Amazon.CA is $46. Tried to buy cheaper Nikon from USA sites - apparently they are not allowed to sell it to me, and shipping is prohibitive anyway. But next time I'm in the US of A I hope to pick up one.

Given I like to have a couple of these this adds up. And my experience with Wasabi has been good.

I would avoid the really cheap imitation Nikon's from ebay which can be had for $10 or there abouts. I did buy a counterfeit Nikon that I won't use. There are posts about how to identify counterfeits. But Wasabi is up front that it is a 3rd party and is not counterfeit.
