It does indeed look interesting. Now let's see how much money they want for it... Maybe if they don't get as greedy as Adobe will they have a chance to sell a few...

Apparently it will be sold for around $50. one off.
I have had a play with the Beta and its quite good.

Just had a quick play and it started struggling with a D800E NEF after one graduated layer, and was delaying the changes. Will wait and see if updated versions get much better. Wouldn't buy it as it does not compete with LR or PS as yet.

I toyed with it and although it's a bit limited (for now) at what I can do with the NEF, it does have interesting parts in the image editor section. It's pretty fast too.

I can't say I even think of replacing RT for this one but I see GIMP go the way of the dodo in favor of Affinity.

New soft is always fun to play with. After toying some more, I start to like it more too. Much more intuitive than GIMP (which is a disaster) and much faster. It does sharpening pretty well too.

I processed a D7200 shot in Affinity. I wanted to start with a NEF but while it loads the files, I struggled with some parts and could not continue (my fault not the program). This is an edit done on a converted TiFF.

D7200 + Big Tam. I have to check what happens with my EXIF.

Testing sharpening in Affinity.

First shot RT sharpening as I normally do. Second clarity sharpening in Affinity, third clarity + unsharp mask.

Been playing with it for an hour or so. Impressed so far; performance looks to be good on as SSD equipped middle of the road MacBook Pro with 16GB. I still prefer Capture NX's conversions (but I did to Photoshop as well).

Interface is pretty good, luv the live filters. Haven't found a channel mixer yet, and I am curious if autoleveling works the same way as it did in PS. Nice to have CMYK again; none of the tools I've replaced PS with supported that worth a darn.

For those that are interested, it's in the App Store for $40 (10 bucks off) through tomorrow. I am gonna start a new thread for Q's and tips and such. Post any Q's you have there.

There is a channel mixer among the live layers and for levels; here's a quick video on how Affinity does them:

These are all video tutorials released this far:
