Should have gone with the D5300 as it has built-in wifi and gps and should have gone with the D610 but have been lucky with the oil problem so i presume that was fixed. Both do video in hd. Really depends on budget and what you plan to do. As a keen amateur myself i have learnt a lot from doth these cameras and especially from my old D200 that i loved. Don't get rid of all your ( i presume afs DX glass ) and treat yourself to some second hand FX glass and other gear with the money you save.
