Advice for a newbie to any forum

Hey all! :D
Joining a forum can be a great experience, but sometimes it isn't! Now a helpful bit of advice I would offer is to introduce yourself in the intro forum(without asking questions right away)! Take a little time to fill out your profile, to help it be known that your not just a one time poster looking for someone to answer your questions. This is like a community, with people from all over the world. Asking questions right off the bat like your dealing with a computer or search engine makes it seem like you could care less about anything but getting your question answered.

Anyway showing a little patience and waiting to post your question until after you've showed a little interest in being on the forum can go a long ways towards having a great experience when joining a forum! :)

Just my two cents folks! Lol :D

I'll add my 2 cents - make sure you read your manual, then reread it, then if you still can't figure it out, ask your question.

Hi Bill,

May I ask a question. I'm just a newbie, barely a month here on this interesting Nikonites dotcom.

How do you deal with a guy who asks you a question, you take time to answer him, but he doesn't even acknowledge your reply to him.
(But he did post to other threads after I answered him.)

Thanks

Frankly I just blow it off. I try not to let things get to me that way. If I feel the need I might pm them to ask the person if he/she found my answer helpful, that I was curious to know since they didn't reply. :)
