Well i think is this picture will look more good if it also have colors because kids are always look good in colorful shots. And your luck is that the swimming pool water color (blue) will also make the picture sharpen.

I agree, I think the photo would be stronger in colour. The child is looking out of the frame. I feel it would look better if she was on the left looking into the photo. Also her hand is cut off.
