A Prime 300 + Tele-converter on D610

Hi Aroy
Which TC14 are you using 14, 14a, or the 14b? I believe the a or b is for under 300mm and the other is for under 300mm I am trying to find which works best with either my 300f4 or 80-200 2.8.

None as I have yet to acquire a 300mm and a TC. For detailed discussion of TC, please read this article by Nasim, which gives each TC's performance for different lenses

By a, b, c I hope you mean I, II and III. The older 300mm will not benefit from TC-14-III, so II is good enough.

Unless you are dead set on spending a fortune start with a300mm f/4.5 (100 to 150 bucks) with a teleconverter. There are good deals on ebay as I've picked up a couple of nice lens (300mm f/4.5, 300mm f/2.8, 400mm f/3.5) for very little money. That mf 300mm will come in handy at times and you ought to have one anyway.
