It depends on the type or purpose of the shot. A photograph taken to show actual facts, ie. photojournalism or sports should have minimal editing and adjustment. One taken strictly for artistic pleasure should be able to be worked until the photographer is pleased with his work of art. As I said, this is simply my opinion and philosophy.
