On some of the menu items in my D800 this does not happen and the double dash is still displayed.e.g. If I assign AE-L/AF-L button to AE-L only I get an icon on the D700 (saying AE-L inside a small lock - but not the D800. This happens on a number of different settings.Is this normal? If Nikon have changed this it seems like a strange step in the wrong direction to me. P.S. I have the latest firmware installed.It's not a complaint. It's a £3000 camera once the grips been added, and I'm trying to ascertain if it's working properly - that's all. The bottom line is this. A lot of the menu items don't show what has been chosen in the sub menu (as in the D700 - and as far as I can remember my D7000 too). Just a load of useless double dashes.Hope that all makes sense.</blockquote>
