80-200 2.8 D question

Has anyone ever seen this or used it?

I still own another version of the 80-200 mm f2.8 D lens, and my impression is that it would not work with my version. First of all, the band is too wide to fit on the lens and not interfere with the Autofoucus/Manual Focus switch on the lens. In addition, the image of the mount shows it way too far forward on the lens to really balance a camera and lens on either a tripod or a monopod.

Just my $.02.
