Message: <blockquote data-quote="Watch72" data-source="post: 187469" data-attributes="member: 14003"><p>There is probably no definitive answer to your question.  No doubt there will be a very good zoom and a very bad prime.  But in general I would agree with that prime retains an edge over zoom.  With zoom lens design, the first to let go is the speed of the lens.  If you have a fast speed zoom, the glass will be humongous and the lens heavy that makes it not so easy to handle.  No doubt zoom lens have its use as in OP's video - but if in terms of quality of photograph - I believe a good prime will out perform a good zoom (for the same focal length).  /W72</p></blockquote><p></p>
