Well I got out my 85 1.4 and shot a series of sections of the milkyway, I allowed LR to stitch it together as a panorama.

Here is the result, I am finding that maybe the D600 is better suited to milkyway shots. Just seem to be sharper or maybe it was my dodgy setup.

Interesting. never thought of doing a panorama Milkyway. I might try an HDR one though.

I wish the night sky here looked even half as amazing as what you have there.
Lucky here to see any detail. Light pollution in the UK is a real pain.
