A little better than 15% of the reviewers gave it the lowest, 1-star rating. That is a significant enough percentage of displeased customers to make me hesitant to buy.

I have 2 of these drives and another Seagate that's not the "plus" model and they all work fine. Granted, I've only had them for maybe 3 yrs but so far so good.

Bear in mind probably half of those people are idiots who have no idea what they're talking about.

I just saw a reviewer *LIVID* at Western Digital because the external hard drive she bought required "special formatting" to work with her Mac...

*Deluxe Facepalm*

Seagate makes a great drive, BTW...

Right. Most of the complaints stem from Windows 32 bit and its inability to use such large storage disks. But those with 64 bit OS's will have no problem with it.

Of the 1,200 reviews 966 were 3 stars and above.

That's over 80 percent.

Seagate drives are good drives. I have 2 1tb drives with over 5 years, nearly 24hr service and they work well.

Keep in mind that most people who are satisfied will never leave a review. Most who are displeased for whatever reason will take the time to rant online.

How many D600 owners are there that are totally happy with their camera?

I really wish that the companies would list the drive speed for their products. Pretty hard to do a good comparison if there isn't any way of telling if the drive is a 5400 RPM drive, a 7200 RPM, or faster. I am guessing this is a 5400 RPM although one person said it was a 5900 RPM drive.
