28-70 AFS with hood- ANy owners? need dimensions please..

Hi guys.

can someone who owns this lens tell me the width and lens of it with the hood mounted?
full size from the bottom metal flange mount to the tip of the hood when mounted. and wide at the widest part of the hood which seems at the edge as it seems to taper out at its widest there

any help appreciated.

It uses the Nikon HB-40 hood, which is right at 4.25 diameter (at outer flare) and 2 7/8 inches tall.

hb-19, no? this is for the "beast"-28-70 AFS

My Nikon 24-70 f/2.8 came with the HB-40 hood on it.

Sorry, I don't know the deal on the HB-19 hood? It says D AF-S, which my 24-70 lens is both D and AF-S, but the lens is not marked that way. My lens is marked 24-27mm 1:2.8G ED
