Ill be doing some filming for a musician promo video, and will use my D5200 and a go pro at the same time (no experience with go pros). So I was planning to use 25 fps on my nikon, but it seems go pro only has 24 not 25. Will this be a drama in editing? Will I lose any quality? Am I better off to just shoot the nikon in 24 also?
Cheers

Is this 25p for a European PAL TV system? The D5200 manual says it does 25, but to see it, you have to select PAL for Video Mode. North American NTSC does not do 25.

A quick check says Dubai is PAL, so just set the camera video mode menu to PAL (Setup menu), and then you should see 25.

Ok great. But I also want to know if I do use 25, and also want to edit clips from the go pro in the same timeline which are shot at 24, will there be any loss in quality?

Edit.... Sorry, i just realised you might have meant set the go pro to pal. It must have been on ntsc. All good now, set both to PAL!! Thanks!

I'm not sure, but I think you would need a very special reason to mix frame rates. Gotta be better to just set them both the same.

I use Handbrake; a free software; as well as Nikon Movie Editor. Both of them allow variable frame rate output. So mixing two frame rates will not matter much. Just check the maximum frame rate supported by the out put device.

In my case I shoot at 50P with D3300, and then adjust the frame rate between 24 and 25. Though my TV supports higher frame rates, it stutters and drops frame if the Audio rate is too high, so I have to reduce both the Audio and the Video rates. The Apple TV3 defaults are ideal for me. So why shoot at higher rate? So that I can use the higher rate for "slow motion" where required.
