2013 Banff Mountain Photography Competition - News & Media Press Releases at The Banff Centre
Not sure if this has been posted here before or if anyone knows about this yet. I was going through a photography magazine I just bought and it had an editorial that mentioned this little bit of interesting news.
Apparently the judges decided not to give out any awards because the judges were unable to find an entry that fulfilled their expectations of an image that told an award-winning visual story.
Honestly, I think this is really interesting. You see tons of pictures in these kinds of competitions of nature and stuff like that but these judges weren't looking for a great image, they were looking for more. It requires the photographer(s) to actually think about the story behind the shot and not just the shot itself.
