Rule of thumb to achieve 1:1 magnification with a non macro lens is extension length matching the focal length of the non macro lens used. My 28 mm worth of extension tubes provide significant increase in magnification with my normal zoom lens at 28 to 30 mm. When these same tubes are added to my 105 lens, it provides only a small amount of added magnification. Bottom line is it will work, but you will need a lot of tubes to get much additional magnification.</blockquote>
