What have we here? A "hobbit hole", that's what! Okay, so it's a mine-shaft and I really have no business entering a mine-shaft but they're a personal weakness. Curious since there are no mining groups in the area according to my map. No tailings or any other sign I can detect that normally indicate a mine-shaft, either. It's like this little guy shouldn't even be here. The shaft looks collapsed from the outside so I'm thinking it's probably shallow, flooded or both and so not worth my trouble. Still, it's worth a short belly crawl to see what I can see.</p><p><span style="color: #FFFFFF">.....</span></p><p><span style="color: #FFFFFF">.....</span></p><p>[ATTACH=full]336656[/ATTACH]</p><p><span style="color: #FFFFFF">.....</span></p><p>Lo and behold it's cavernous just a few feet in. I can easily stand up fully with room to spare. It's also a deep shaft... Reeeally deep. I don't have a flash on me, and my D850 has no pop-up, so these next photos were all light-painted with my LED flashlight. </p><p><span style="color: #FFFFFF">.....</span></p><p><span style="color: #FFFFFF">.....</span></p><p>[ATTACH=full]336657[/ATTACH]</p><p><span style="color: #FFFFFF">.....</span></p><p>This sucker just goes on and on... I'm about one-hundred meters in when I accidently disturbed a colony of bats (sorry guys!), so it's time to turn around. More light-painting for this shot, of course.
