It is getting to the stage that every time you see a good image online, you are starting to question if it's AI or not ☹️

I think I might still take a chance on the Viltrox 20mm lens, as I assuming that even if the court case goes against them, Nikon can't block AF use until such time there is a firmware update. Even then, I assume if you weren't to update the firmware then the lens would still work.

I know Nikon are shortly taking Viltrox to court over copyright issues on their Z series. Does anyone know if any of the current Z bodies have had software updates that prevent the use of Viltrox lenses. Also, on some Viltrox Z lenses there appears to be no manual/AF switch, which therefore...

Thanks for the info and I think that puts the final nail in the coffin for a Z5. I think the Z6ii is looking like the way to go for me, but I think I will retain my D500 as well. Would that make me a hybrid shooter :)

@BF Hammer @Clovishound As you both have the Z5 mark 1, can you advise what the AF is capable of tracking, eg will it lock onto a person walking quickly or running?
