    Post your Birds in Flight

I'd have been happier if this one was sharper. As with my still shots, these were taken at Helmsley National Centre for Birds of Prey. Had my camera set to AF-C mode for these. Not really used this mode much, so I'm quite pleased with the end results.

    Post your birds (2)

These were all taken at Helmsley National Centre for Birds of Prey. The fourth and last ones are particular favourites of mine. The last one managed to be timed perfectly for a break in the raining clouds, allowing some sunshine to make that rainbow in the background.

    My Daughters at Rievaulx

Took the girls out to Rievaulx Abbey at the weekend. My youngest (3 year old) is getting used to me snapping photos of them, so much so, she now poses for them without prompting. These have been transferred through my phone, so they've lost all the camera info, but it was doing using the...

    Infrared Post Processing

So I recently bought a Neewer 720nm infrared filter for my Nikon D5300...and the results aren't great so far! Here's one that went wrong, but still looks great (In my opinion anyway): Naturally, playing with InfraRed filters, I wanted the deep blue skies and the pure white foliage...quite...

    Right place, Right time

So, the following pictures were taken at the same time, same place, just on a 180 degree pivot. Both were taken near the top of Roseberry Topping in the Cleveland (UK) area. And it's pretty much got it's own climate, as you can see from these two images.

    Post your waterfalls

Seem to have a thing for waterfalls at the moment. This time, it's Aysgarth Falls.

    Post your waterfalls

Haven't posted in a while, but only recently started taking my camera out again. This is High Force waterfall in County Durham. It's a beautiful walk with a great payoff.

    Post Your Automotive Shots!

This turned out better than I expected it to. New Jag, featured in Spectre. Was at the Birmingham NEC at the weekend for the Performance Car Show. I have several hundred pics, but I won't bore you with them :)

    InfraRed

I had a search around other forums and couldn't find anything in one of the general comments about InfraRed filters. I have a D5300, and I don't want to get it converted to shoot InfraRed only, as I don't have the money and it's not something I'm looking to do long term. But it does interest...

    Audi R8 Taster

Yeah, sorry. It's a UK Term. It's a "taste" of what the car can do. Three laps with an instructor in the passenger seat. I managed to break 200Kmh in it, so it was quite a ride! @singlerosa - If you look at the shutter speeds on those pics, you can see I had trouble getting them right as I went...

    Audi R8 Taster

Hey everyone. I did an Audi R8 taster session for my birthday this year. And with an hour and half wait before my turn, I had plenty of chance to try my motion photography. Here's a few examples of the cars I shot. My mate who I went along with took the camera off me when it was my turn...he...

River, Lake, Streams, Seas, & Oceans

A shot of the sea, a few minutes after sunset. Got some nice stars, the lighter sky and the lights in the garden.

    Post your Sunrises

I have a panoramic version of this shot, but it's too big for this site. This was taken at Waters Edge in Beadnell at about 5am on an August morning.

    Post your Moths & Butterflies

There's a place near me called Butterfly World. I could have a field day in this topic! However, here's a couple I took whilst out walking with the family.

    18, 35 or 50?

I think it's just one of those stigma's that go with certain things. "Landscape? You need a shorter focal length for wider shot. Portrait? A prime lens with a wide aperture is best..." etc, etc. I love taking portraits of my daughters using my 55-300mm lens (as attached) and using distance to...

    18, 35 or 50?

OK, so I'm considering purchasing my third lens so far (Kit lens and telephoto already owned). I'm umming and aahing about what to get next though, and I think my biggest issue is, I haven't decided what kind of photographer I want to be. I've looked at the above three sizes (bear in mind I...

    Post your flower pics

Here's a photo of a lilly whilst my daughters were pond dipping. Taken at Fountains Abbey. I used Live View with the screen rotated up as the camera was almost touching the water. I used my 55-300mm Nikkor lens on my D5300.

    Hello from Teesside

Afternoon All, Just signed up after spending ages trying to find some information on lens', filters and other gear for my camera, and figured the best place to get the info I need would be the ask other people with experience. Unfortunately, I'm the only one in my friend base who has been...
