    Making a panoramic

I would like to start playing with panoramics. What's a good non-photoshop tool to stitch photos together?

    After Hours

HDR processed using Photomax. I'm not thrilled with the result. I need to crop off the right edge. My intent was to capture a somewhat scary mood and pickup the dim glow of the ticket booth in the background. I also note there is strong ghosting around the trees and the carousel poles on...

    D-Lighting is good for?

I just don't get it. When should I use it and how do the different levels of low, med, high affect the overall image? I've experimented a little but never been happy with the output.

I would've liked to have gotten a better position for this, but it's was wet, muddy, and rocky. I just didn't feel like getting down at eye level. Sorry :(

    Rhodesian a Ridgeback Sunset edit...

It's a great shot in terms of lighting and exposure but I lose sight of the dog. There's too much sky and water. Try cropping to a 1:3 aspect ratio or simply filling the frame with the dog and his reflection (see attached). Good job on adding the water. Maybe you should do a tutorial on that.

    Greenbelt Gibralter

Hiking along Austin's Barton Creek, I noticed this rock out in the middle with a near perfect reflection as the sun came out on what was otherwise a dreadfully dreary winter day. I didn't take my tripod and left my filters back where I was staying. But I'm not complaining as the "fast"...

    Cherry Blossoms at the Basin

Appreciate the feedback. Here's the basic file of what I first tried with a portrait shot. I thought it meh and that's when I went landscape to bring the blossoms in. Looking back and considering your inputs, I think a better position would have been to get lower and more eye level to the...

first real portrait session - bad lens?

I was considering that as well. But then here's one from today 68 mm f/8 @ 1/400. similar problem...or at least I think it is... Hard for me to image that I could be that much off perpendicular from DoF with f/8.

first real portrait session - bad lens?

I did my first real shoot of my coworker's daughter a couple days ago. During processing I noticed that the lower half of the image is slightly out of focused (see image). Trying to figure out what the problem is. D7100 with kit AFS 55-200 DX lens. 62 mm f/4.2 @ 1/10000 sec. I did another...
