    Topaz DeNoise AI test

I have just experimented with DeNoise AI myself for the first time and came on here to see if there was a specific thread I could add my contribution too. The difference when I zoom in to 100% is huge and certainly better than I've ever achieved with my basic knowledge of LightRoom. This is my...

@Peter7100 thanks, I'll give this a watch now.

    D7500 a worthy upgrade from D7100?

I'm sure this topic has been covered before and I've been reading some old posts but looking for up to date opinions. My D7100 has always frustrated me for its few weaknesses which I have always felt undermined its many strengths. Mainly the slowish fps and extremely small buffer. I also feel...

    First Wedding, Help needed!

@kevy73 Thanks very much for the feedback and valuable information! The wedding venue is indoors, a traditional Church. I have checked and they have not put any limitations on using flash etc. however I would much prefer to go without it or keep use to the bare minimum as I don't want to be a...

    First Wedding, Help needed!

Hi Folks, It has been a very long time since I posted on here and the main reason is because I haven't been doing much photography. However my sister has decided to get married during the pandemic and has asked me to take pictures during the ceremony. Now wedding photography is something I...

    Which bridge camera?

@lokatz I think what you say is very valid and the drawbacks you mention I can relate too with my FZ82 but perhaps not to the same extent. I think the vibration reduction in my Panasonic is excellent and handheld shooting at 1200mm is certainly possible at relatively low shutter speeds (I've...

    Non Nikon Black/White

North Island Tomtit, taken near Taupo New Zealand. Panasonic FZ82 I hope the IQ holds up after the forum resizes it. I don't have access to lightroom and the app I downloaded to resize images made them look terrible, I just hope the forum does a better job.

    Which bridge camera?

That is another one I'm looking at. I like the fact it has a larger 1 inch sensor and the f/2.8-4 aperture is much better than some of the other options I'm looking at. The reason it's not right at the top of my list is that it is above my budget (I could probably be persuaded to stretch it...

    Which bridge camera?

I'm going to be travelling for a year or so from June and have pretty much decided that taking my DSLR kit will be too cumbersome, expensive to ensure and generally a bit risky with the type of travelling I'll be doing. Photography is not the primary purpose and I don't expect to want to sell...

    Travel insurance, a year away.

Hi folks, I'm going to be taking a year long, more like 14 months, career break travelling around New Zealand and also spending a short time in New Zealand. I'd love to take the following gear with me but fear it will be too expensive to insure: D7100 200-500mm + 11-16mm and maybe one other...

Nikon 200-500/5.6 VR Lens....... post your photos!

I went to one of my local bird hides yesterday but they've taken down the feeders and there wasn't much about, so I turned my attention to the cricket match going on just next to it. This is the first time I've done any sports photography but I think cricket it an easy one to begin with.

    How good is photoshop

I want to use photoshop to fix this tern photo that I cut the wing tip and tail off. A friend took the shot off facebook and played with it in photoshop and got the result I want, so I know it can be done but I don't know how? I don't even know the correct terms to search for to get a youtube...

    Post your birds (2)

I literally came on this thread to write "Just a sparrow. 200-500mm + Kenko 1.4 TC". Those exact words and then I see your post. Here's my "just a sparrow".

Kenko Teleplus PRO 300 DGX 1.4x AF Teleconverter

Here are another two to compare. The settings are different as the light was changing but both were shot at the same distance from the bird, neither cropped and both with very very similar post processing. The 1/80sec was possible because I used a beanbag for support. No TC 500mm 1st 700mm...

Kenko Teleplus PRO 300 DGX 1.4x AF Teleconverter

I've just picked up my Kenko Teleplus Pro 300 1.4X TC. I should have had it last Friday but for some reason UPS delivered it to a hospital instead of the camera store, wtf is that about?!? Anyway I've just had a quick play shooting sparrows and a pigeon in my garden. First impressions are that...

Tokina 11-16mm Help me spend my money!

I bought a used (although it looks brand new) 11-16mm DX II in the end. I still have a lot to learn about using an ultra wide but I'm loving it so far. I think I will want to pick up some filters next, probably some grad filters first. Here are some of my first shots with it.
