Monarchs are traveling through Boulder County. I took a ton of butterfly pictures today, and it will take me a while to go through them. This one is my favorite so far.

Taken from a high perspective with my long lens. There was ground fog in the moraine. Note that some of my friends are in the upper right corner. I tried B&W for the weekly challenge, but I think the color works, too.

Every once in a while a heron will catch two fish at a time. This Great Blue Heron did that, then dropped one, but grabbed it again and managed to swallow them both. The fish are small, so you may want to view large.

Another Great Blue Heron landed in this bird's territory, and they both made themselves look big and tough. After a minute they turned away from each other and started looking for fish. Peace was restored.
