Hello All, I am trying out some slow shutter speed pics in the shutter priority mode and the least I can go on a 18-55 lens is I think 1/6th. I have read that in order to capture the movement of the stars in the night, the shutter can be delayed upto 30mins or more.. so how do I achieve this...

My first DSLR the d5100 has arrived. I am very excited. I am very new to the DSLR photography and currently trying to learn in manual mode. I had one question, since I bought the camera refurbished, how do I check the current shutter release count on the camera ? Thanks in advance.
