    Can't Get Photo Info

After I've taken a shot, I can't seem to figure out how to view the shot information for the photo (shutter speed, aperture, etc). Is there a way to do this?

Exposure Delay Mode & Auto Bracketing

Jake just informed me about the Exposure Delay Mode, and this is an awesome feature! I would like to know what happens when you have Exposure Delay Mode set, and Auto Bracketing set. Will each bracketed shot use exposure delay? If so, that is REALLY awesome!

    Question About Mirror Up Mode

I fully understand how to use MUP, but I have a very specific question about it. I already know how to set up MUP, press the remote once to raise the mirror, then press the remote again to fire the shutter. Is there any way to set up a D600\D610 so that the mirror goes up, then a specific time...

Changed My Mind. Purchasing the D610, Not the D800E.

By renting the D610 and putting it through rigorous testing, I have concluded that it will easily fit my needs, and save me $1000. I can use that money to buy a decent tripod and ball head. Won't get it for another 3-4 months, so will be looking at anything new that Nikon launches.

Anyone Like To Play a Game?

If there is enough interest, we can play the following game: I will post 20 photographs, all 1600 pixels wide (I assume I'm allowed to do this size). You have to guess which photograph(s) were taken by the D800E. I will make sure there is no embedded EXIF data. This may just prove that if...

Is Idaho a Photogenic Area For a Nature Photographer?

My wife and I are thinking of moving to Idaho and we are both avid nature photographers. Having never been there and only seeing photographs, we would like to get other photographers impressions of Idaho. We especially love mountains and forested areas. Also, if you know, is the northern...

If a Photo Is Not Tack Sharp, Is It Junk?

It is my extremely subjective answer that most of the time the answer is yes! I must admit that I'm addicted to sharp, sharp, sharp! There are, of course, exceptions to this. Event photography is one, and the other is when the photographer is deliberately blurring for effect. But even when...

    D600\D610 vs D800

One not so obvious advantage that the D600\D610 has over the D800 is better noise control. The D800's sensor pixels are more densely packed providing higher resolution, but at the price of more noise. Noise interference between the closer sensor pixels is the culprit. So if noise is a concern...

    Zeiss 100mm f/2

I plan on purchasing the Zeiss 100mm f/2 in the future as well as the Nikon D800E. I have read nothing but exceptional reviews about the Zeiss, several calling it their reference standard. DxO doesn't rate it so highly. Did they get it wrong? When I get my camera, I will rent the Zeiss and...

Rent a Lens Before You Buy

I highly suggest that every serious photographer set aside money to use toward camera and lens rentals. I have learned so much renting countless times over the years. Don't just rely on reviews, word-of-mouth, or anything else. See for yourself! Rent a lens or camera and design your own...

    Bracketing With a Twist

I would like to know if the D800 (or D800E) can do the following: I want to be able to lock up the mirror, then take a pre-determined number of bracketed shots. BUT! I want to be able to press my remote for each bracketed shot. I don't want all the bracketed shots to go off all at once. For...
