In Yellowstone a couple of weeks ago with a K-3 and Sigma 150-500. Immature eagle keeping a watchful eye on the Gardiner River. A fox curled up asleep in a warm crevice. Nyah Nyah Na Nyah Nyah!

I sold my D700 yesterday. I got some beautiful images with it. However, I'm a 50 year Pentax shooter and when Ricoh announced the 36 MP Pentax K-1 I decided that was the way to go for me. From my day trip to Yellowstone last Sunday. Check the high temp for the day in the lower right. Love my Fozzy and Blizzaks! D700 and S-M-C Takumar 24mm f/3.5. Xpstd.

...but I missed it so I bought another one. The first one had 78K clicks on it. The 'new' one has 10K clicks and cost less than the first one. ;)

I went on an overnight to Yellowstone on Sunday. Didn't see any bears or wolves, not even a coyote. Here's what I did see with the D700 and Sigma Bigmos (150-500). Xposted from the D700 forum.

I'm new to the D700 and I've run into a situation in Manual mode with a manual lens (Takumar). I set the shutter speed with the Command Dial and the f stop on the lens. I take a shot and the shutter speed changes to another setting, e.g., from 1/80 to 1/40 or 1/30 to 1/15. Pushing the shutter...

Drove over to Bozeman to try some night shooting with my new to me D700 and Pentax S-M-C Takumar 28mm f/3.5. I shot at 1/60 @ f/5.6 on Auto ISO which turned out to be 3200 most of the time. Yes there was some noise and I did use some NR but not as much as I thought I would. PP in LR 5.6...
