    Testing Galaxy S7

I went to botanical gardens for a walk but did not take my Nikon gear. I only had my new S7 phone with me. Took a few pictures of flowers. Honestly, I was surprised by the quality of this tiny camera can do!

Can I use YN-622N-TX as a remote shutter release?

I have Yongnuo YN-622N-TX and a couple of YN-622N transceivers for my flashes. I've heard that the TX unit can be used as a remote shutter release. Alas, Google is not my fried in this (perhaps I don't know what question to ask), the only thing I found that this is somehow related to LS-2.5...

    My first shots

Tonight was the first nice evening without football, so I managed to go out and take a few shots with my new D500. The speed of shooting (10 fps) is very impressive. Feels like holding a silent machine gun. Focusing is also snappy.

Will you pay for Flickr Pro?

Those of you who use flickr probably know that the batch uploadr will stop working tomorrow, unless you pay for the Pro version. I'm uploading all my processed jpegs as a backup and a way of sharing some selected photos. I like the way flickr works, I like its 1 TB limit. However, I cannot see...

    My first wedding: registrar

This is a continuation of "My first wedding" topic. Here is "Old City Chambers", where the actual wedding will take place. Any suggestions about how to take pictures? The ceiling is very high, so bouncing light off it is probably out of the question. The wedding will be in middle of the day, so...

My first wedding: is 50-150 f/2.8 appropriate?

This is a part of My First Wedding thread. I took a few snapshots of bride and groom at home, using Sigma 50-150 f/2.8. This was supposed to be a trial for the hotel eating/dance floor shots. I'm not entirely pleased with them. I just wonder if this is the right lens to use indoors. On the...

    My first wedding: the hotel

This is a continuation of my First Wedding thread. This is the venue for the day and evening reception. Any particular advice on setting up lights, using on-camera flash, lenses? An overview. There are two levels. This is the lower level. There are white ceilings on both sides (might be useful...

    My first wedding

I have been asked to do friends' wedding in May. I don't have any experience in wedding photography and very limited experience in portrait photos. I'm afraid I'm going to be pesky and ask a lot of questions! I thought I'd rather divide them into separate topics for clarity. I apologise in...

    Sad kestrel

While having my Saturday walk I stumbled upon this kestrel sitting on a tree next to a footpath. It looked very sad. A few of its feathers were sticking out, which made me think that it was injured. It let me approach very close. The last picture was taken from about 10-15 feet. It just...

    Some shooting statistics

It has been almost two years with my D7100 and I shot almost 10,000 pictures. I though it would be nice to see some statistics on how I use my different lenses. I wrote a couple or Perl/PDL scripts that scanned my photos (sorry, they only run in my work environment - too many dependencies to...

    Post your 'old' photos

I haven't found a thread for 'old' or 'aged' photos, so I'm starting one. I've been using NIK tools for quite a while, but never tried Analog Efex Pro. Here is my first attempt.
