    Piperbarb's 2014 Project 365

1-1-14: Ah, the first day of the new year, and the first day of the 2014 Project 365. When I came home from running some errands this afternoon, I saw at least 8 chickadees in the forsythia bush next to the house. Most of them were way in the center of the bush, so getting a good photo was...

What is it? Guess the critter

We all take photos of animals of all types that do not show all the critter, or show the critter in a less than expected view. The photographer will know what it is, but when other people look at it, they may not guess it immediately. I posted such a photo recently to my project 365 thread (I...

    Your first camera...

I wasn't sure where to post this thread, but figured this category was a good as any other. What was your first camera, and how old were you? My first one was one of those "spy cameras" you could purchase via mail order from one of those ads in the back of comic books. They cost a couple of...

    Video on D7000

Since getting my new D7000 on Friday, I have actually played with some video. I'm not a video person but it has been a lot of fun playing with it. Not exactly sure how to deal with the autofocus on it for videos. Anyone have suggestions? Right now, I'm using my cats & spousal unit as subjects.

    Nikkor f/2.8 35-70mm zoom - worth fixing?

I have a f/2.8 35-70mm zoom lens (non D) where the aperture ring has a lot of play in it. It causes the lens to wobble a little bit between the aperture ring and lens mount. I know it is affecting the photos I have taken with this lens. My question is, "Is the lens worth fixing or not?" TIA...

    Bit the Bullet

OKay, I finally bit the bullet (or is it pressed the enter key) and purchased a D7000 body. I realize that the replacement will be out sometime in the spring, but I have been wanting the D7000 for some time now and can afford it. II do not know if I will be able to afford the replacement...

    Piperbarb's 2013 Project 365

Okay, so here are some photos I took today. Since I live in upstate New York, I thought it appropriate to get some snow photos, especially since we got about 13 inches of snow in just a couple of days. I am a B&W person at heart. :) It always amazes me how changing from color to black and...
