Fun Easter Bunny Shoot at Children's Centre

On Saturday I've volunteered to take Easter Bunny Photo's at a preschool Children's Centre. Pardon my crayola style drawing but I think it gives you the idea. My givens - I have an SB700, Metz 58 AF2 (roughly = an SB900) and a LED Camlight PL-88D which says it puts out 600 Lumens. And the...

    Post your Photographing the photographer.

The Mrs. taking a picture of me taking a picture of the Mrs. Volunteered to pretend to be a photographer at a fun photo shoot at a Children's Centre 10th Anniversary Party. The Theme was "I love the 80's" - go figure, many of the parents with kids at the Centre would have been born in the...

Dumb Jokes Posted Here.... if you dare.

NEWS FLASH Nikon decides to diversify. Given their proven track record at producing perfectly round objects it was a logical choice to branch into the tire market. Seriously, was searching Kijiji for something from Nikon and this pops up. For the curious the poster must have meant...

    Post your birds (2)

Be kind, just getting the hang of this shooting birds. We don't have a lot of winter birds that stick around - these magpies however do seem to stick around, much to some peoples dismay. I read that one should just get out and shoot birds, common birds, and then when you get the chance at a...

    Hunter's Blind

Interesting idea Mike, a drive up shooting station. I suppose I could find somewhere - we live in a rather sparsely populated part of rural Canada, only three hour drive to nearest city. My last wild life shots were taken from the driver seat. Deer are considered driving hazards in these...

    Hunter's Blind

I've watched a few how to youtubes on wildlife photography - mostly about birds. For example:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9nDeU3iUIRg Where the photographer sits in a hunter's blind. I can get one at the local Canadian Tire store, sporting goods store or order one like this from Amazon...

Vintage Primes - recommendations for the frugal photographer

Good to know I got a great deal at $175 (CDN so about $140 USD) and no shipping - but did have to drive to next town 50k away - 'postage' = $20 in fuel. I am having some fun with this lens. The zoom takes some effort, want to zoom out, take two steps backwards.

Vintage Primes - recommendations for the frugal photographer

Going to the next town tomorrow to look at a 105mm AF F/2.8 D Nikkor Micro (not the VR version) Seller says bit of dust that does not impact images - he seems to be a very meticulous photographer. Recently made the jump from Nikon to Sony. He had problems with his D610 - Nikon upgraded him...
