this beetle was struggling so hard to get out of that petunia - it is totally pollinated.

if I'm not mistake (and I've been wrong before - just three years ago last Wednesday for instance I was wrong) But I think this is Mr and Mrs. Goldenrod Spider - they change from yellow/golden to white depending on the flora they are trying to blend in with.

we've got way too many of these hopper's this year.

My google-research calls this a Goldenrod Spider - they are harmless - even beneficial eating pesty bugs. And pretty.
