    Photoshop Mystery

Today I read a post from one of the Facebook Photoshop groups I'm in. The person asked if Photoshop was going to release a new mystery like it did last year. When I searched online for info, I came up with this from 2014 (and apparently Photoshop has done it in subsequent years). Has anyone ever...

    October 2017 Assignment Theme: Seasonal

This is my third entry - my first two were more for the amusement factor. After seeing some of the gorgeous images with the changing colors, I decided to add mine.

    Post your Urban Decay/Abandoned shots!

My township put in this paved walkway/biking path and fence 10 years ago. It didn't take long for people to vandalize the fence. The township repaired it at least once, but there isn't any point in continuing to put money into it.

NEF looks better than jpg in Capture One Pro

I don't know how Capture One Pro works since I don't have it and never used it. But here is something from ACR (both Light Room and Camera RAW in PCC have this ability). When you are working with NEF's, you can go in and change the Camera Profile. Possibly Capture One Pro is using some type of...

    Hark's 2017

Whatever this is, it's along the edge of a small waterfalls. Nothing appears to be attached to the gear so I doubt it is being used.

    October 2017 Assignment Theme: Seasonal

Lucky me...I get to go after Glenn's gorgeous photos! :beguiled: This one is more for laughs than anything. It's a Scarecrow tribute to Michael Jackson. Scarecrows are a part of our fall and Halloween decorations. This was an entry in a scarecrow contest--I think all of the entries were...

    Hark's 2017

There is a local Scarecrow contest being held for the first year although there aren't too many entries. I think all of these were made by kids. The first is a tribute to Michael Jackson. Judging won't be held until November 3rd.

    Hark's 2017

Yesterday I went back to see the updated outfit for George Washington. He was quite happy to say Cheese and gave me a big, toothy grin! ;)

    ?: Nikkor 300mm f/4E PF ED VR vs. 300mm f/2.8 VR II

The only one I know who has the new 300mm f/4 lens is Jake @BackdoorHippie - I *think* he even uses a teleconverter on it. According to him, it isn't too heavy either, and it looks to be very sharp.

    Seeking guidance on sharpening

Did you try Shake Reduction in Photoshop? I didn't do too much in ACR other than 35% sharpening and 40% noise reduction. You have quite a bit of noise in yours. Then I took it to PCC and used Shake Reduction. I also used the clone stamp tool around the edges of the bird to get rid of some of the...

    Hark's 2017

There were from the end of August. The borough added a pier with docks to allow more people access to the town. The docks were pre-made but transported in pieces and assembled at this location. Bristol, Pennsylvania. There is a second dock and walkway that is parallel to this one.

    Nikon 200-500/5.6

Doesn't @Blacktop have this lens? I think he's mentioned pairing it with a Kenko 1.4x teleconverter although I'm not sure how the images turned out.

Nikon 55-200 DX VR Lens Rattle

That might be a DX version of the 70-300mm you saw. I'm not sure that is the one @RocketCowboy is referring to. There is an FX version that's been out for several years.

Question on the Nikon 50mm f/1.8G

Thanks for the replies. Since I don't own the lens, there wasn't any way to check it out. And I certainly hadn't heard of any issues about it previously. @RocketCowboy (Charlie), does your f/1.4 move like the way Nick describes for the f/1.8? Just curious and is something to keep in mind for...

Question on the Nikon 50mm f/1.8G

While reading this article on Nikon's 85mm f/1.8G lens, I read the following quote concerning the 50mm f/1.8G: "Another good news is that the rear element of the lens does not move in and out when focusing, so you do not have to worry about changing the lens focus to infinity when changing...

    Hark's 2017

This is another one from yesterday. Bowman's Hill Tower sits atop one of the only hills in the immediate area. The drive up is much steeper than the drive down. On the way up, there is an abrupt right turn, and then drivers encounter a really sharp incline. Since no one was behind me, I put my...

    Hark's 2017

This was also taken yesterday; however, this is the paved roadway/path that runs through the Bowman's Hill Wildflower Preserve. Behind me and off to the left looked to be a wedding held in a clearing. This entire area is surrounded by a fence to help keep the deer out. The deer eat the foliage...

    Hark's 2017

Cross-posting this first photo. It's also in the Monthly Challenge. This Halloween display was photographed in Washington Crossing, PA. The area is rich with history--George Washington had his soldiers cross the Delaware one Christmas which helped them win the Revolutionary War. The skeleton's...
