    D750 Near Future Availability

Has anyone heard anything concerning D750, or other Nikon equipment, availability? I got the last one from the store I patronize on Saturday, and someone I know tried to purchase one at another store and they were told that they had none and were not likely to get any in the near future...

    Post your latest purchases.

Ok, so I posted here a couple of weeks ago about how I was tempted at a B&M store when the sales clerk handed me a D750 with a 200-500 5.6 mounted on it and took me outside to try it out. Well, today, I took my D7100 and an 80-200 f2.8 lens that I've not used for a long time to see what they...

    Nano Coating - How Important?

How important is Nikon's Nano coating on telephoto lenses greater than 400mm? I ask because when I used to shoot a Hasselblad, the T* coating was considered important on wide-angle and normal-angle lenses, but the T* coating was not considered by all to be that important on telephoto lenses...

    WM's 2016 Shots

Of course, they didn't inform me that they wanted food product shots, so I didn't have all of the equipment that I needed for this shot, ... like a fork!!!!;) WM

4/22-4/25 Nikon Refurbed Gear on Sale

Folks, I received an e-mail from Nikon USA to let me know that they are running a 10% sale on some of their refurbished gear. I know some here might be interested, so I'm sharing. Refurbished Camera Products | Used Cameras, Lenses & Flashes | Nikon I know I said I'd never by Nikon...

Post your Frogs, Toads and Amphibians!

Here is another shot of the front yard frog that I wrongly placed in the reptiles thread... WM

    Let's see some reptiles...

Now that I'm back home after my trip down south, I'm back to my yard work. While trimming azaleas this evening, I had this Green Treefrog make its presence known. It was quite patient, and waited for me to get my camera to take some photos. It returned to the trimmed azaleas a short while...

A Trip to Circle B Bar Reserve (By Myself)

I left the banks of Lake Hancock and headed back to the Discovery Center, hoping to see more song birds. This is the only fauna I saw on my way on the Shady Oaks trail. Unfortunately, it was the last subject I photographed on my journey around the Circle B Bar Reserve that day. I had hopes...

A Trip to Circle B Bar Reserve (By Myself)

I walked by this GBH and it didn't move a bit. It was totally intent on something at the edge of the lake, most likely a fish. There are some exotic species of fish (Pterygoplichthys, or sucker mouth catfish) in a lot of the lakes in Florida. They burrow into the banks of lakes, and have become...

A Trip to Circle B Bar Reserve (By Myself)

And then came the second, and last, Blue Iris I saw all day. This one was in the shade, which led to more saturated colors. A plamp and stake would have been very helpful here. WM

A Trip to Circle B Bar Reserve (By Myself)

This small, about five feet long, gator obviously has no idea of the events on the other side of the reserve, otherwise there is no way it would be as relaxed as this one is. Or maybe this one is a female and isn't threatened by the bulls. WM

A Trip to Circle B Bar Reserve (By Myself)

A bit further down the trail, near the dock and observation deck, I was able to photograph this Catbird. It was gone almost immediately after this shot. I then turned my attention to a Cardinal and chased it for about five minutes. I felt like a paparazzi chasing a celebrity, as this bird...

And is this the same Snowy Egret as before, or another one, further down the trail? I couldn't tell... WM

A Trip to Circle B Bar Reserve (By Myself)

Another 100 feet down the trail was a SHHHHH!! sign, so it was time to look in the trees for nests with juveniles still in them!! I passed the second sign, going the other way, which meant that I'd missed it, so I backtracked and found a very important clue as to where what I was looking for was...

Further down AA, I had hopes of seeing some songbirds, but they were not out at midday. This Snowy Egret was... This is where I noticed that my hands were really shaking, and that I was having serious issues holding the camera steady, even with a monopod and having abstained from caffeine...

A Trip to Circle B Bar Reserve (By Myself)

As I prepared to leave, I looked up and this pair was leading a group of humans down the path. As they got near, one of them went off of the trail and skirted around us. The second one walked up and proceeded to squawk at us a bit... It then proceeded to sit down by the trail near us and...

A Trip to Circle B Bar Reserve (By Myself)

Further down the trail (AA), a Bald Eagle flew over and landed in some dense treetops, so I sat down to wait it out. While waiting, I got bored and got this shot of a GBH on the nest. After about forty minutes of waiting on the Eagle, it won by flying out exactly opposite of me and staying...

A Trip to Circle B Bar Reserve (By Myself)

I didn't stay long with the previous bird because some come by and asked "Is that an alligator in the path ahead?". Hmmmm? There were people on both sides, and he stayed there for a while, before he seemed to assert himself by moving further out into the trail. We moved a bit closer and...
