The baby hummingbirds have arrived and it is so fun to take their photos. I'm guessing we have about 12 to 16 babies at our 5 feeders. And they are really putting on the show for us, all day long.

I planted 2 sunflowers on the corner of my deck and the goldfinches and hummingbirds love it. The only problem is that the sunflowers are so big it is hard to take photos of anything else.

This is the year of the frogs at my house. The first one to show up was Harold. Harold is a little tree frog and has made a home in one of my hanging baskets, it came complete with a porch for Harold to sit on. Later Harold invited a friend which ended up living in the next hanging basket...

Mourning Dove

One of the few hummingbirds we have had this year. We have about 5 adults but we have not seen any babies yet. And they are very skiddish this year unlike years past. I am not sure what is going on with them.

This is a female house finch showing her brooding belly. Apparently, they lose the feathers on their belly while sitting on the nest.

My little guy won't let me get so close. But I also haven't seen him in a while. The photo I have of him shows a mark on his left shoulder and I am thinking maybe whatever made that mark came back and was more successful this time.

Actually, I like it both ways. I like the berries but would have preferred them a little closer to the dragonfly, but dragonflies don't always accommodate our artistic style. I may have cropped in a little closer just to move him to the right side of the photo so it would give you a feel for...
