My boyhood playground in the East of England.

This owl took the mouse from the long grass only 8 feet from where I was standing. It dived dtraight towards me and took me completely by surprise as you can see from the second shot. With the exception of a D5 I don't believe any other camera could have grabbed the eye focus so quickly.

It finally rained yesterday and overnight damping down some of the wildfires and clearing some of the smoke. It also got the Mule Deer moving around more. To put these fires into some perspective, the one to the west of us is 760 square miles in area and not contained.

My Asus desktop monitor (Windows 10 OS) has just quit which, after all the voltage spikes and outages caused by the wildfires, is not surprising. I use this largely for photo processing so I want to replace it with a unit best suited to this purpose. Recommendations please?
