Just a few shots from my travels today. Magpie I think this hawk saw me. :) Crazy huge flocks of Red Wing Blackbirds today. Fun to watch! Eurasian Collared-Dove Kestrel who also saw me. :)

    Post your 150-600 Tamron shots.

Here are some shots I took today with the new Tamron 150-600. I'm still debating whether I prefer the versatility and longer reach of this over my Nikon 300MM f/4 with 1.4x teleconverter. The Tamron is a tad less sharp, but I still need more real world experience. I have yet to get a decent bird...

    Tamron 150-600/Nikon 300 f/4 and 1.4x Comparison

Okay, here's a quick comparison between the Tamron 150-600mm shot at 420mm, vs my trusted and well loved Nikon 300MM f/4 with a 1.4X Nikon teleconverter. These shots were hand held, so take that into consideration. Pics were taken with a D7100 and there was no post processing of any kind, other...

Nikon 18-300 f/5.6 Close Focus Problem

So I generally like the 18-300 f/5.6 lens, it produces good results at the telephoto range, and very good results in the 18-150 range. Close focus (under 2 meters or so) is fine up until around 150mm, when it starts to back focus significantly. When shooting grasshoppers the other day at...

    Post your 150-600 Tamron shots.

The weather is mostly cloudy and the light is terrible here today. I took the Tamzooka out and was impressed by how quickly it focused in the dark, flat light. I don't have much to show for my outing today, but the moon popped out in a small patch of blue sky. This is uncropped on my D7100...
