    Lynda.com now LinkedIn Learning

While searching for some photography challenge ideas, I came across info that Lynda.com is now LinkedIn Learning. Curious if anyone still has a Lynda.com membership - do their courses now take you to LinkedIn Learning? It looks like Lynda.com might still be an active web site.

    Sigma Macro lenses

Here you go @arshuter - this is the winter image Jake shot that I was thinking of. Taken with his Sigma 105mm macro.

    Sigma Macro lenses

Maybe I misspoke that Jake's bubble shots were with his Sigma 105mm macro. I just looked and saw some taken with his 24-120mm. But I DID find these taken with his Sigma 105mm macro. It was all his macro shots that made me finally get a macro lens myself (although mine is by Nikon since it was...

Blowouts when photograhing birds with white plumage

06Honda, I did what Jake suggested but only on the chest (not the face). There was a small patch of whites that was blown out on the chest. First I used an adjustment brush in Camera RAW and lowered the whites in the small section that were clipped (although I probably didn't have to). Then I...

A pair of my prescription sunglasses that have a mirror coating. Tried out several benches to get a decent view from the lake's reflection.

Resetting File Sequence # to Match Shutter Count

When I took some photos with my D7100, I noticed the file sequence number and the shutter count didn't match. Thanks to @nickt for a link that explained the process, I was able to match them up. In the shooting menu of the D7100 (and no doubt a menu option for other bodies), d7 gave me the...

    Opions thoughts wanted

@arshuter I am going to suggest you check out the other two options you had if they are still available. I'm going to be totally honest here. I need to call Nikon to find out about my shutter count. Apparently it is off by 495 from the file number sequence. I purchased it refurbished directly...

    Hark 2019

There is a Veterans Flag Display at a park this weekend, and I knew I wanted to take photos. All of these were with my D750 - didn't even take a DX body because there were specific shots I really wanted to get. The event really starts tomorrow which means many people will be present. That's why...

    Using ND filters on D5500

Not to throw a wrench into the discussion, but according to B&H's link for the ICE 10-stop ND filter, it's listed as a Neutral Density 3.0 filter as well as a 1000x filter factor. :eyetwitch: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1191690-REG/ice_ice_nd1000_77_77mm_ice_nd1000_solid.html

    Hark 2019

Yesterday I went to the usual spot looking for the Green Heron. Instead there was a dog running around the cove chasing the birds. The dog was just having a little fun. ;) So I decided to make a photo op out of it. The dog's owner was going to call it, but when he saw me taking pics, he resumed...

Post your favorite May shot 2019

Once again I'm torn between 2 images for different reasons. The first (Green Heron) is my favorite simply based on how it looks. The second is also a favorite because it took me a while to identify the bird (female Red-Winged Blackbird). Between here and a couple Facebook groups, I finally...

    Post your birds (2)

These have a little of the ick factor going on. Green Heron - reminds me of the toast, 'Through the lips, past the gums, look out stomach, here it comes!' ;)

    Tamron 150-600mm G1 vs. G2

@wev and @Woodyg3 might be able to give you opinions on both. If I remember correctly, the first version had a lot of issues. I think both members used both versions. However, Woody has been encountering a recurring issue with the second version.
