I took this picture about 3 or 4 weeks ago and wanted to post it and wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to my many friends on Nikonites. The white thing to the bottom left side of the star on the tree is the moon.

My son and grandson live with my wife and me. Santa brought him a Polar Express Train along with a bell. My grandson rang the bell to make sure he could still hear it so he would know that he still believed in Christmas and I am pleased to say that not only did he hear it ring so did my son, my wife and myself also heard the bell ring loud and clear. WE BELIEVE!!!! According to the story, when you no longer can hear the sound of the bell, you no longer believe in Christmas.

PLEASE READ!!! This is another shot of the twins that I really like. I normally like to shoot at F5.6 in the 200mm to 300mm range to get the depth of field I like but I am making a note to myself that when I get out to the 500mm to 600mm range I need more depth of field, especially when I have more than one subject. This would have been a great shot if it had been shot at around F8 or F10 instead of F5.6. I will mark this up as another learning experience and try to remember the next time I go out to shoot. I still wanted everyone to see this shot even though it needs more DOF to bring out the second bird because of the position of the birds.

Marilynne, this is my version of a vulture from this week. It was quite a distance and also with a big crop, but here it is.

Nikon D7000, Nikon 70-200VR F2.8 with a 2x 20E III teleconverter taken handheld
