Nikon z6 with Godox IT32 with X5N trigger - TTL -HSS issue

Recently I bought a godox IT32 flash with X5N trigger for my Nikon Z6. Manual mode+ HSS works fine. TTL also works fine for 1/200 seconds. But when I enable TTL and HSS and shoot with high speed (1/500 or 1/600 or higher) the flash seems to fire but ineffective in the photo. Tried several options and few settings but no luck. Godox customer service haven’t faced any such scenario. Please advise how to fix this?

You indicate the flash fires but is ineffective is it possible the flash is not powerful enough for the settings the camera is choosing? Check that the camera flash mode is set to 200 Auto FP. Not going to be much help shoot off camera flash in manual mode my ancient PW's as they are manual only and still shooting DLSR.

Keep in mind that HSS reduces the effective power of your flash. It uses small pulses of flash to overcome the rolling nature of sensor reading. I don't know the physics behind why this reduces effective flash power, but it is something that is said in articles about HSS, and something I have seen myself when trying HSS for macro work.

Not sure if that's what's going one here as you said it works fine with HSS and manual. I never tried HSS and TTL, as I normally use manual for macro, and rarely, if ever, use flash for anything else.

What distance is the flash from the subject, and what kind of apertures are you trying for? Remember, you are working with a flash that has a guide number of 59, which is relatively low power.

Thanks! My settings was already auto FP 200. I even tried mechanical or electronic and auto shutter speed. No luck.

Thanks! The distance from flash to subject is just an over a meter. I have an aperture of F2.8 with shutter 1/500.

At 100 ISO and F2.8 you should be able to achieve proper exposure out to 6.4M at full power, so I doubt that power is the culprit. Beyond making sure all your contacts are clean, and the X5n is completely seated on the camera, I've got nothing.

Have you tried it both wireless and mounted on the trigger?

I have a Godox 685, with the wireless trigger, and my daughter a TT350. Both have performed well for us.

Did customer service offer to have you send it back to them for evaluation and possible repair/replacement? It may be a settings issue, but they should be able to cover the bases on that scenario over the phone. Having said that, I have seen customer service that could only work with putting symptoms into their computer, and then give you what it spits out.

Thanks! I tried both wireless and mounted on camera, same result. Customer service say that they never encountered such issue. They suggested to change Flash Sync Speed to 1/200 s (Auto FP). That’s the default setting I had in my camera all along. They are analyzing but yet to give a final solution.
