I'm not sure if I follow... ON1 Photo Raw is supposed to replace Lightroom...

That's from their website... So, do you still need Lightroom or you prefer to use Lightroom in conjunction with ON1 photo Raw

I'm thinking of buying the software, but I'm not a fan of subscription software...

I use it and love it. I buy it every year as a "plus" member I think it's called something like that. It is yours either way.
