Battery Warning

I'm getting this warning on a Z6III I've had a year. Just started today. Happened twice.

The batteries (2 in a MB-N14) are Nikon EN-EL15C, not a third party.

If I remove the batteries and re-insert, camera works fine for a while, then I get the error message again.

I tried to take a photo with Android phone, but it saved the photo as a .heic file, whatever that is.

It says:

"This battery is unable to provide data to the camera and cannot be used. For safety, choose a battery designated for use in this camera"

Any ideas?

I do not know where you are, is it very cold there this week? Li-ion batteries do not store well in freezing weather and discharge themselves.

Also try testing them just 1 used at a time to find if one is faulty. Even better if you remove the grip and put the battery directly in the camera to see if that makes a difference. Just don't jump too many steps at once so you can track what change you make does what.
