Earlier comments to my post suggested using the Focus Limit Switch in the Auto Focus mode set to FULL for still photos of mushrooms in the wild, and in Manual Focus mode set the Focus Limit Switch to infinity-0.2m for still photos of mushrooms in the wild. Is this what you are also saying in your reply?

Use full all the time. The only reason to use infinity to .2M is if you are using AF, have a distance to subject of more than .2M, and are having trouble with the system "hunting" and going from infinity to minimum (.163M) back and forth. I doubt the focus limiter will affect manual focus, but I wouldn't take the chance.

My first macro workshop is on the 27th, and the second with a different photo club is the next day. Like they say when it rains it pours...I'm sure my brain will be ready to explode after the second workshop :)
