Juvenile Lesser Black-backed Gull, which you don't see around here very often

I've been hanging around a local lake for 3-4 hours at a time. I think I've been there 4 times since the new year. There are a lot of eagles right now due to fish being plentiful.
We lost our eagles that we could get close to when a storm took out the tree they had built their nest in. They rebuilt back in a different tree on the utilities company property and we are not able to get very close. And the other eagles usually hunt on the Ohio River. The only other place is a fishery but it's an hour away and that is a hit or miss situation.

Great shot.

You are able to shoot this in full sun with an extra stop of exposure compensation and yet no blown highlights?

I usually have to underexpose birds with white feathers at least one stop, sometimes as much as 2.5 stops.

Bright sky background. It was a little overexposed, but I only had to make a small correction in exposure in Lightroom.
