Z6II issue with i button control

Hi all,
I have a Nikon Z6II. I was wanting to change my picture control to black and white. I went to the i button and on the monitor I have 12 selections. The picture control is item one on the top row. When I highlight that selection and click on the "OK" button and then try to move through the options with the multi selector the highlight advances to the next panel. The same happens for the white balance in the first position on the lower row.
I can get the options available with most of the other panels but not all.
Is there a setting for this behaviour?
I would appreciated any help on this matter.

Can you just use the touchscreen instead?

It does not work on that position. The other positions seem to work fine. I am wondering if it could be the touch screen. Maybe a little experiment is in order, and I will move it to a new location and see if it will work normally.

Just a thought but do you have the lens extended from the lock position when trying to use the i menu?

I have changed lenses to see if that was an issue and it continues regardless of the lens. 50mm or 18-24 wide angle. I am going to try using a different location today to see if it might be the touchscreen. Thanks for your reply.
