NX Studio 1.9

Humm, so what is a Nikon ID in the first place?
I have a Nikon Account that uses my email address as an ID. I register my Nikon products there and buy Nikon products on line there etc.
However when I tried to sign in on the new NX Studio, I got a message that said it did not recognize my email address as a valid Nikon ID. I logged into my Nikon Account and tried using Chat, but was told that there were no Agents available(?), so I ended up sending them an email so it will most likely be two days before I hear anything back and then I will be asked all sorts of bizarre questions. Although I sent the email from my account, they will ask if I can login to my account, for example.

According to what I've read you need to create a new account at Nikon Image space for the software.
Evidently you are absolutely correct. After waiting for Nikon Support to sit around and come up with no answer yet, I started NX up again, failed again, and then clicked on the Sign up for an ID link. After going through several hoops, email address (the same one that would not work in the first place) verification, etc. I got this:

Nikon ID

Thank you for signing up for a Nikon ID.

And I am in.
Of course, we will be told that we will have to have a KEY next year!!

Yeah, Nikon really needs to get its act together when it comes to the "experience." We finally have image recipes, but only available on a few models - and the whole process is so bad, I don't know why anyone would even bother messing with it.

And here, at last, is the reply from Nikon Support, which again verifies Needa's statement!:
Hi Glenn!
Thank you for contacting Nikon.

I am happy to help, you would need to go to:

Register for a Nikon Image Space Account

It is too bad, or simply odd, that my years old, Nikon Account information was not good enough.
