I'm sure that some of you enter, and place in photo contests. Here is the place to brag, I mean share, about it.

I'll start off. North Charleston, SC has an arts festival every year and they have competitions in various categories. I managed to win a second place in the amateur color section.

Well, the Pup and I went to the North Charleston Arts Festival tonight after submitting several images each. Unfortunately, the Pup didn't win any, but had a lot of nice things said about her photos, and she sold one almost right off the bat. The competition this year was much stiffer than last year, although the number of entries was probably a little less.

I managed to snag two.

1st place monochrome, amateur:

Actually, the print I submitted had a boo-boo in the mounting process. Rather than reprint and mount on my last remaining piece of Gator board, I just trimmed it to a square, which works well for this image. I really didn't think this would do well anyway.

This one got an honorable mention in the color, amateur category:

These are two of the one's the Pup submitted. The owl photo is the one that sold right away.

Sorry, she had some trouble with the files, and I decided to post without them, but forgot to delete the last sentence. She finally got them sorted and here they are.
