Back from Jamaica!
Quite the trip, a bit tired out, too much food, not too much drinks
The place was great, lots of activities, and such, but I would say that over half of the guests were attending weddings, such an industry.
It was a good thing that I was covering the wedding photography, the photographers that come with the package are very constrained, no rehersal dinner, no pre wedding shots with the bride getting ready, and no coverage of the reception, and even with that the couple only gets to pick 24 pictures, before needing to shell over another 1500 dollars.
So, my photos basically covered the wedding, but it was a lot of shots, as I ended up going from backup photographer to primary photographer. I found that the photographer/video guys started to mimic my shots, following me around, and getting similar shots. The wedding was at the end of the day, so the ocean and sky had wonderful light. Hard to take a bad shot when the light was that wonderful.
I left the 800 home,, the hotel safe was tiny, and so,, I took the smaller 7000 and only a few primes and the 24-85 lens.
I must say, I was really pleased with the 24-85, it was a real workhorse, taking sharp photos, and giving me enough range. Sure, a couple of times, I barely could back up enough, but overall, the lens performed well.
The 7000, produced very fine images, vivid colors, and lots of details. I spent a couple of hours during the layover reviewing all the shots, and found that minimum editing will be required on the first pass. Sure, I can tweak/create, but on a first run thru, I can create a set of a few hundred shots with tiny edits, mostly it will be fixing spots on skin where the sun tan lotion missed, or on some making skin the color of a tomato back to something more natural... SUNSCREEN PEOPLE!
I also managed to squeeze some candids of Jamaica. I would love to had more time, but you shoot as opportunities occur.
Here is a quick post of a pre wedding shot.

I found this phase almost the most fun, had more time setting up shots, versus the capturing of each critical moment during the rest of the day.
Nope,, can't see myself taking wedding photos, my hat off to those that do, but occasionally, a lot of fun.
