Turn on "Grid View" in the settings. Also, the D7000 has U1 and U2 that allows you to pre-set all your preferences for 2 completely different shooting styles. It's super handy and something you should set up if you tend to do different kinds of photography (ie - macro, low-light, landscape, etc.)
