Blood moons in Australia, also. But I got loads of atmospheric interference. Still, the colour was worth the 4am alarm.

drop your iso to 100/160, SS 640/1000, F8-9, play about, dont be afraid to crop it, i got good crater details with my 300. Are you one a tripod or hand held, mine are usually HH.

Thanks for the tips. Here's one I took the day before with similar parameters. I am still experimenting.

I use a tripod, live view and cabled release.

I've also been trying to shoot mars this week, but it's not very easy at 300.
